Ingredients
- 60G/2 1/2 Canned Borlotti Beans, Drained And Rinsed
- 1 Celery Stalk, Trimmed, Chopped
- 1 Spring Onion, Trimmed, Sliced
- 50G/2Oz Cooked Bacon, Chopped
- 1 Garlic Clove, Peeled And Crushed
- Pinch Dried Chilli Flakes
- 25G/1Oz Tomato Puree
- Pinch Stock Or Bouillon Powder
- 250Ml/9Fl Oz Water
Method
- Soak beans in a bowl of water for 15 min.
- Drain beans and add to a pot.
- Add 150 ml of water.
- Add bouillon powder, water, tomato paste, chilli, garlic, tomatoes, celery, spring onion, bacon and salt.
- Bring to the boil and boil for 2 hours.
- Do not add salt.
- Add water if you need it.
- Strain and return to the pot.
- Serve with hot bread and a glass of white wine.
